By the time you have added up all the extra costs of the little things you are considering adding to your wedding day, you may want to think about if you really need them or not. I’ve added a list here of things that your guests don’t actually care about to help you try to save some pennies.
- Favours: It might be controversial but, unless it’s an amazing gift because you have a large budget to spend or something super sweet and personal, I don’t think your guests even notice that they are there. If you’re planning on adding something on which is going to add £300-400 to your budget, personally I would just save yourself the stress. Your table styling will be enough to wow your guests!
- The cake: When it’s time to cut the cake hopefully your guests will have had plenty of drinks and will have completely forgotten that there is a cake! There are lots of other options now to add something sweet for your guests, it doesn’t necessarily need to be a large cake.
- Wedding invitations: Of course, it’s always lovely to receive a gorgeous wedding invite but are they a must have? Are they worth the few hundreds of pounds you are about to spend or can you send an online one? You could opt to send some to family or guests who you think will appreciate them and then send an online version to the guests who you think won’t stick all that prettiness up in their house! You could even pay for a downloadable version and have them printed yourself.
- First dance: The reality is, while you’re nervous about the first dance, your guests haven’t thought twice about it and really wouldn’t notice if you didn’t want to have one! The same goes for the bouquet toss!
- How much you spent: Don’t get me wrong, your guests will have an opinion on your wedding day and I know this can add to your overwhelm. They won’t however, care how much your dress cost, or your suits, your rings, your flowers etc. They will have an overall opinion of the whole day and as long as you have an amazing day, they will too!
I hope this destressed you a little and you can take some of these points on board! Not to end on a biased note but one thing your guests will notice is the styling (of course I’d say that), and if you do need a stylist, I’m your girl!
