How to lose friends when wedding planning

So, we’ve all heard about it. Falling out with friends during the run up to weddings, no longer talking to friends after your wedding and so on.

I’ve put together some tips below to help you avoid losing friends during the process of wedding planning.

1. Don’t expect too much of them. It can often become very full on being a part of the bridal party and having lots of events, hotels and gifts to buy. Not all of your friends are going to be able to attend every event and that’s ok.

2. Don’t tell your bridal party to pay for their own dress, hair or make up. I know it can be super hard to stick to a budget but it shouldn’t fall on your friends. You asked them to be a part of your day and wear the dress that you have chosen, they shouldn’t have to pay for it. Remember, they will also have your hen party and a gift to pay for too as well as probably a hotel for your wedding night.

3. Don’t say no to your bridal party’s plus one. Although you may not have met them, they are doing you a big favour by being your bridesmaid and they deserve to have a great time without feeling awkward around all of the other couples. If you can’t squeeze them in your budget, ask your friend to pay for their space.

I hope this was helpful and gave you something to think about. Let me know in the comments if you disagree or have any other ways to save your friendships during wedding planning.
