Seating plans are known to add stress during wedding planning due to many factors, however, they play an integral part the day. Here’s why…
- Keep your guests happy: A seating plan ensures your guests are seated with people they know or get along with, which creates a more enjoyable experience. They also feel comfortable knowing that this has been decided for them in advance.
- Family Dynamics: Arranging where everyone will sit beforehand helps manage sensitive relationships.
- Efficiency: Assigned seating means that guests find their seats quickly and ensures that no one is wandering around awkwardly looking for a seat.
Now you know why having a seating plan is important, here are a variety of ideas to display on your wedding day to help your guests find their seats.
Of course, a simple printed sign displaying table numbers and names on an easel is just fine (with styling from me, of course), but this would be no fun without giving you some more ideas!
- A backdrop board or mirror with each table printed out and mounted onto the board.
- Frame or board with table numbers/guest names displayed next to photos of the bride and groom.
- Trays of florals attached to an MDF board with names inside each floral tray.
- Each person to take a bud vase with floral stem which has their name on to their seat.
- Take a shot, take a seat. The shot bottle tells you where to sit.
- Glasses of champagne with name tags and seat numbers around them.
- Envelope wall with each person’s name and a photo or personalised message inside the envelope.
- Find your face, find your place. Take your photo from the board and find your table number.
- ‘Every Story is Beautiful’: Books to be positioned on shelves with each person’s name on the binder.
- ‘The Perfect Pair’: Sunglasses hanging from a board with name tags hanging.
- ‘Find your seat suckers’: Lollipops stuck to a board with names on.
Lots of these ideas do involve some creativity and a theme as well as an MDF board or two which we do hire with our styling packages.
I hope this was helpful and gave you some seating plan ideas!
As always, get in touch if you need any help with your wedding styling.
