I am soooo excited to share this wedding with you.
I need to start by saying that Rebecca and Liam have been the most amazing couple to work with. I met them at my first wedding fayre in Leeds, they booked me not long after with not really any photos of my work to go from. They trusted me with their full wedding styling and since booking me, Rebecca has done nothing but sing my praises and recommend me to other brides. She has been the best!
Now, today was their wedding day and although you won’t read this blog for a few weeks, I couldn’t help but write it today because I was so pleased with how their styling came together.
Rebecca and Liam chose Thornton Hall Country Park for their wedding venue, a stunning venue with a gorgeous outdoor pagoda to marry under, an outdoor ceremony area (with a roof, woohoo) and looking out onto a beautiful view. They opted for an autumnal, terracotta colour palette.
I started by dressing the ceremony area with two floral arrangements while I had my husband hanging 90 chair drapes behind me (I would add a laughing face here but I don’t have the option). We met with Scarlett, the wedding coordinator at Thornton Hall who is actually working her last wedding today before she has a career change. She was SO lovely, it was a real pleasure to work with her. The rest of the staff were also so friendly and I got such a good feel for the venue. I was considering staying a while and becoming a wedding crasher!
I left my hubby with the chair drapes and moved upstairs to dress the reception room. A fun fact about this venue: downstairs is in Yorkshire and upstairs is in Lancashire, it’s actually one of the reasons that Rebecca and Liam wanted to be married outside because they wanted to be in Yorkshire!
The reception room was a blank canvas, white linen on the tables and a few glasses ready to be laid out. The sun was shining through the glass roof and the room was so bright and airy. I styled the sweetheart table first, a dark beige linen tablecloth draped over the table paired with a terracotta drape and some bud vases with some beautiful flowers from Walter and Blossom. Behind the table I used a triangular arch with a personalised neon sign saying ‘Love is Easy’ which tied in with the table plan theme. I added orange and cream draping with another eucalyptus and pampas grass arrangement and was super pleased with the end result.
The rest of the room began to come together with cream table runners, taper candles and terracotta napkins on top of the caterer’s stone plates. I didn’t get to see the room with the chairs at the tables but I’m patiently waiting for Docs and Shots professional photos and I know they’ll be amazing! The Groom and his groomsmen arrived and had a few drinks while tying their ties and getting ready for the bride to arrive, they snapped a few selfies and chatted away and that’s the part where my husband starts to get envious of the fun they’ll be having later.
Overall, it was a lovely, stress free morning setting up and I was so so pleased with the outcome. Rebecca and Liam’s feedback was amazing and working with them made my job a whole lot easier.
A big congratulations and an even bigger thank you for trusting me with your vision. Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness.
Rebecca xo
