We are back and this week and we’re talking about how to make sure your guests actually leave your wedding and go home saying how amazing it was!
Here are some things to consider when planning your big day:
1. Speeches: Everyone loves a speech but make sure they don’t go on for too long. Your guests will be feeling full up and a little tired after their meal, they don’t want to listen to 2 hours worth of speeches. You could split the speeches up if there’s a few to get through or give everyone a time limit.
2. The food: You can guarantee your guests will have something to say about the food. If it was great, it will be talked about. If it wasn’t great, it will also be talked about! I would recommend choosing yummy food that the average person will enjoy.
3. Direction: Your guests want to know what’s happening and when. Especially when they will be eating. Plan the day smoothly with your wedding suppliers so that there are no long wait times and everything flows nicely. With this being said, I don’t encourage you to try to fill every single second. Your guests will be happy to go to the bar for a half hour window if you need them to.
4. Favours: If they aren’t yummy or a part of the toast, they’ll likely get left behind. Save your money!
5. Seating plan: While you may want to have a really relaxed wedding with no seating plan, it can make it awkward for guests if they don’t know where to sit or they have to sit next to someone they don’t know. Guests will definitely feel more comfortable being told where to sit.
I hope this was helpful! As always, if you need a wedding stylist, my 2025/2026 diary is open and I’m ready to chat with you!
